Actually homesteading is a lifestyle rather than a vocation, but can you find a way to pursue your passion of self reliance, living off the land, and earn an income?Unfortunately, (and fortunately!) it depends on the person homesteading and how enterprising he or she is. The good news is, most people who pursue this back to basic, self reliant lifestyle, are enterprising. And that's a must, because you'll quickly find that there aren't any homesteading jobs out there - at least none that I know of. So Can You Make Money Homesteading?You will have to have some kind of at-home business on the side, even if you are successful at raising most of your own food. Whether it be raising chickens for meat, keeping bees and selling honey or selling produce that you've grown organically, you will need to make some money in order to pay for utilities, fuel and your mortgage.So keep that in mind, as you begin budgeting, getting out of debt and saving money for that large piece of land somewhere.
