Healthy Foods Recipe: Cook Wheat Berries For a Variety of Dishes
Healthy foods recipe, such as this one has one thing in common: it has the best quality foods for its ingredients.
Learn to cook wheat berries and you have a great start to all your healthy recipes.
You'll not only make an efficient use of your stored bulk grains, but you will also be adding nutrition and a delightful texture to all your healthy recipes, including casseroles, soups and salads.
Whenever I cook wheat berries, I like to cook a big batch of them and freeze them in quart-size bags.
That way, I have cooked bulgur on hand whenever I want to add it to a recipe.
How to Cook Wheat Berries
In the morning, start to cook wheat berries by putting the wheat and water in a 2-quart saucepan and bring it to a boil.
Then turn off the heat and let it stand for about 2 hours.
Bring it to a boil again and add water if necessary.
Then turn off the heat a second time and let it stand for 15 to 30 minutes. Stir in the salt to taste. Drain off the remaining water.
Take the time to cook wheat berries and this cooked bulgur can now be used in whatever healthy foods recipe you desire.
Learn to cook wheat berries and you'll have a source of an excellent cereal as well as a base for your favorite healthy foods recipe.
Just take your cooked wheat and heat it in a little water.
Then add brown sugar or honey and a little cinnamon.

Wheat berries
are delicious as a breakfast cereal or in casseroles and side dishes.
A Word of Caution
If you have never experienced a true whole wheat diet, then enter these wonderful foods gradually into your daily diet.
Add cooked wheat berries to first one healthy foods recipe, and then another one.
Otherwise you'll likely have tummy problems as your system won't be used to handling so many whole grains at once.
Also, some people are allergic to wheat. So again, make the change gradually.
Try adding a little whole wheat flour to your baking and then increase it as time goes on. Then start cooking wheat berries for breakfast and occasionally add bulgur wheat to your dinner recipes. Eventually your body will become accustomed to the whole grain diet.
